A Note From
Ray’Chel, the Financial Therapist & Economic Justice Researcher
Grace & Peace, all!
I’m Ray’Chel Wilson. Becoming an award‑winning educator, Greater Tulsa African-American Affairs Commissioner, or social entrepreneur rooted in North Tulsa’s historic Black Wall Street, was never part of my plan. Pre-K me just wanted to help people.
Since my time as a high school personal finance teacher, I've been driven to empower individuals and organizations remove the silent barrier of financial trauma. Don't we all deserve to be fully present, productive, and proud of the futures we're building?
I believe so.
From classrooms to conferences, my work is about
economic justice,
healing our money stories,
and making money moves our last names can stand on.
Welcome.

What Ray'Chel Brings to Your Stage
Informed Holistic Experience.
Ray’Chel’s journey started as a high school personal finance teacher, watching students juggle grades, grief, and generational money wounds...all while being told to “just budget better.”
That disconnect pushed Ray'Chel to design real‑world financial curriculum that honored Ray'Chel's students’ realities and dreams. This work evolved into Raise the Bar Investments and the internationally selling Black Wealth Freedom workbook series, now in the hands of readers across multiple countries.
Recognized as the 2024 U.S. Small Business Administration Young Entrepreneur of the Year for Oklahoma, Ray’Chel blends behavioral economics, faith‑rooted justice, and practical tools to close wealth gaps for underinvested communities. Ray'Chel 2-part workshops "Money Mindset & Money Moves" and "The Pace of Productivity" keynote help teams and students move from shame and survival mode to strategy and stewardship.
Ray'Chel has spoken for institutions like Boston University, Urban Leaders Fellowship, Impact Tulsa, and the Historic Vernon AME Church, helping leaders see that financial wellness is not a perk; it is a social determinant of wellbeing and a strategy for institutional health.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is financial therapy?
Financial therapy integrates money education with emotional and behavioral support to help you understand your money story, heal financial stress, and build healthier habits with your finances. As a 4-time author and graduate researcher in financial trauma, this is my niche and area of expertise.
How do you typically work with? Do you see clients 1:1?
Yes, I offer virtual financial therapy-informed coaching for individuals and couples, focused on money mindset, habits, and strategy rather than product sales.
Individually, I serve first-generation wealth builders, mission-driven professionals, and organizations that want to support their people’s financial wellness and close racial and gender wealth gaps. Instead of managing or investing money for clients. I provide education, coaching, and strategy so you can increase financial wellbeing & make informed decisions about your finances.
Institutionally, I partner with companies, campuses, community groups, and faith communities for keynotes, workshops, and longer-term financial wellness programming. I regularly tailor sessions to your audience (students, employees, congregations, etc.), your time frame, and your goals for financial wellness and stewardship.
How is your 1:1 work different from Raise the Bar Investments and ForOurLastNames?
My 1:1 work is personalized coaching for individuals or couples, while Raise the Bar Investments offers courses, workbooks, and group education, and ForOurLastNames provides gamified technology for "ready, set, go" financial therapy-informed wealth-building.
